Brown Glitter Eye New Years Eve Tutorial

So here is the same tutorial as yesterday's purple eye, only with brown instead ;-)

This eye look would look super cute on brown or green eyes! If your looking for a cute glitter look for New Years Eve then look no further ;-)

Step 1️⃣
Add a light brown matte shade into the crease. This will help us with the blending process. I used the shade 'Salted Caramel' from the Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette. I add the shade in with a small pencil brush and then blend it out with a clean fluffy brush :-)

Step 2️⃣
Using the same pencil brush, I added the pink shade 'Milk Chocolate' from the Chocolate Bar Palette into my crease, right on top of the brown shade, but more towards the outer area of the eye. I also blended it out using the clean fluffy brush!

Step 3️⃣
I took the shade 'Salted Caramel' from the Chocolate Bar Palette again and used a fluffy brush to place it all over the lid.

Step 4️⃣
I also added this darker brown colour under my waterline using the pencil brush, just to balance the look out :-)

Step 5️⃣
If you want to use liquid eyeliner then go for it! I used the Inglot liner in the black shade (77) you will want to do this before the glitter as it can get a little messy if you put the liner over the glitter :-P

Step 6️⃣
I also used a gold eye glitter that I got in the same Front Cover set and a smaller flat top brush to pat the glitter into my lid. You can use any glitter you want but just make sure it's eye glitter, we don't want any craft glitter on our eyes ok? Ok :-P

Step 7️⃣
I added mascara and BAM! Done! You can add lashes if that's what your into ;-)

Pair this look with a red lip for the perfect New Years Eve look!

Hope you guys enjoyed this glittery tutorial, if you try it out be sure to tag me on Twitter or Instagram, I'd love to see your recreations :-)

Hope you guys had a really good Christmas and have a safe and happy new year!

Step 2️⃣
Using the same pencil brush, I added the pink shade 'Jilted' from the Urban Decay Electric Palette into my crease, right on top of the brown shade. I also blended it out using the clean fluffy brush!

Step 3️⃣
I took a pretty purple pigment from a Front Cover pigment set that I got a few Christmasses ago... I used a flat top brush to pat it onto my lid.

Step 4️⃣
If you want to use liquid eyeliner then go for it! I used the Inglot liner in the black shade (77) you will want to do this before the glitter as it can get a little messy if you put the liner over the glitter :-P

Makeup Monday: Best Drugstore Foundations

Let's face it, there are tons of foundations available at the drugstore from all different price ranges. I have 7 drugstore foundations below that I have put to the test below.

There will be a mini review for each of them and what skin type they are best suited for, so if you're planning on picking one or more of these up then you can have a look and see which ones I think would be best suited to you :-)

1️⃣ Loreal Infallible 24H-Matte

Price: €12
Skin type: oily/ combination. Tends to cling to dry skin
Coverage: Medium to full, can be built up
Longevity: it dries matte so it doesn't tend to rub off easily. This is a good long wearing foundation.
Colour Selection: good, the lightest shade is perfect for pale Irish skin!
Recommend: yes, great colour selection for pale people, good for oily skin.

2️⃣ Rimmel Wake Me Up

Price: €11
Skin type: dry/oily/combination
Coverage: medium to full
Longevity: lasts all day, can transfer if you don't set it with a powder as it has a more dewy finish
Colour Selection: good, has very light shades, not too many darker shades in my area
Recommend: yes, great for all skin types, gives a great dewy finish that can be made matte with powder. However, it contains SPF 15 so tends to look white in flash photography!

3️⃣ Revlon Colour Stay
Yes, the image is not mine...this foundation and me did not get along so I gave it to my sister!

Price: €18
Skin type: oily/combination
Coverage: medium to seriously full!
Longevity: sticks to you like paint! Very long wearing
Colour Selection: good for pale colours, not so much darker shades
Recommend: yes, great coverage for blemish prone skin. Not for dry skin at all!

4️⃣ Loreal True Match

Price: €15
Skin type: dry/oily/combination
Coverage: medium to full
Longevity: lasts all day if set with a powder! Has a more dewy finish
Colour Selection: really good selection for both light and dark skin tones
Recommend: definitely, one of my favourites for all skin types. Also can be left dewy or mattified with a powered!

5️⃣ Maybelline Better Skin

Price: €14
Skin type: oily/combination
Coverage: medium to full
Longevity: lasts a good few hours on the skin but tends to cling to dry patches and look flakey
Colour Selection: comes in many light shades with few darker shades
Recommend: yes, for people with oily and/or blemish prone skin as this foundation claims to give you 'better skin' in 3 weeks. I didn't wear it for 3 weeks straight but it did help even out my skin tone when I wore it for a whole week :-)

Also contains SPF20 and does give the appearance of a white face with flash photography so keep that in mind.

6️⃣ Kubiss Natural Matt Foundation

Price: €2 (I got it on offer, 3 for €6 in my local pharmacy so I'm not sure what the individual price is!)
Skin type: dry/combination
Coverage: poor, can be built up but very thin liquidy formula
Longevity: wears off quite fast, few hours at most. Rubs off easily on clothes etc.
Colour Selection: poor, lightest shade is way too dark and very orange
Recommend: definitely not! Very bad colour range, and bad coverage

7️⃣ Borjois Healthy Mix Foundation

Price: €13
Skin type: dry/combination
Coverage: medium to full
Longevity: lasts a good few hours, no longer than 8 though, especially in oily areas. So it didn't last up to 16 hours for me like it says on the bottle :-P
Colour Selection: good for both pale and darker skin tones
Recommend: yes, for dry/combination skin this is a healthy glowy looking foundation with good staying power

I hope you guys find this somewhat helpful, if you would like more posts like this on any kind of high end or drugstore makeup then let me know in the comments below, or on my Instagram or Twitter as always :-)

DIY Wednesday: Xmas Decor

There are so many cute ways to decorate your house/ bed room without spending all the money's. I do this every year and today I'm going to share with you 5 cute ways that you can add a bit of holiday cheer to your lives using recycled bits and bobs and spending little to no money :-)

So if you are interested in how I DIY'd these festive things below, as well as some more super cute things, then just keep reading :-)

1: Tree Decorations
So every year I like to revamp my old decorations by painting them a different colour or adding some cute glitter :-)
This year I went with rose gold, because I'm all about the rose gold this year ;-)

I used the Montana Gold spray paint, I got this in Art & Hobby for any of my Irish gals interested, it was only €7 ;-)

2: Picture Frames
So you may already have some nice frames with cute pics on your walls. If you want to give them a more Christmassy feel then you can wrap your whole frames in wrapping paper and add bows and ribbons! I did this last year too, you can read my last years DIY Christmas decor post HERE.

You can also print out some Christmassy (is this even a word???!!!) images, or use holiday themed paper and stick them into your frames for a fun little Christmas addition to your rooms :-)

3: Lights, Lights Everywhere!
Nothing gets me more in the holiday mood then adding fairy lights to absolutely everything in my room!!!

I got these cute flower lights in Primark this year and added them to an ice cream bowl also from Primark for a cute festive look. I literally love this because I can keep it in my room all year round as its so versatile.

You can add fairy lights around your bed head board, your curtains, you can even pop them into mason jars for a twinkling festive feel :-)

4: Stag Head Cushion Cover
Last year I decorated some of my cushions but adding cute ribbon to them.

This year I went all out and made a glittery stag on a plain white cushion case because stag heads are so very in this year!

So for this you need;
1️⃣ A plain cushion case,
2️⃣ A stencil of a stag head or whatever it is you want on your cushion,
3️⃣ Some glue and some glitter (or glitter glue) or any paint colour of your choice!

Step 1
I lay the cushion case flat onto a table top (you might want to put some cardboard underneath to protect your table), also add some cardboard inside your pillow case so that the glue doesn't stick your pillow case together!

Step 2
I printed out a simple stag head outline on some thicker card paper and cut out the inside of the stag head.

Then I sellotaped the stencil down on the pillow case where I wanted the stag to be.

Step 3
I used my Montana Gold spray paint to colour in my stag head. Do this in a well ventilated area (preferably outside) and spray thin coats from 8-10 inches away from your pillow cases until you are happy with how it looks :-)

You will need to hold down the stencil at the edges when your spraying them so that they don't end up too messy looking like mine did! :-)

You can also use a hot glue gun and some silver glitter glue to colour in your stag. You also need to be careful around the edges of the stencil here so that your edges are clean and crisp and don't end up too jagged like mine did!!!

Or you can add a think layer of glue to your stag and sprinkle loose glitter on top ;-) if you do this you will want to add another layer of clear glue on top of the glitter once it has all dried so that the glitter is less likely to fall off and transfer onto anything and everything around it (you guys know the struggle with glitter :-P)

5: Bed Sheets
To add an extra festive feel to your bedroom you can always buy some Christmas bed sheets! Mine were super affordable from Primark!

You can add soft fluffy blankets for a more cosy feel too!

So last year I made some more DIY's, if you are interested in how I made this cute xmas tree below, then you can read how I did it, and all my other Xmas DIY's from last year HERE :-)

Hope you guys enjoyed this post, let me know how you guys decorate your rooms and houses in the comments below :-)
